Artist Bio   Because everyone should get to know their artist.

Why you should get to know me:

Because I look like an interesting person to know .. because we might have a few things in common .. because we might have a good time hanging out together .. because you have seen my drawings and enjoy them .. because new friends are always a good thing .. or just because you want to ..

Artistic Training

None.  Oh, I took a couple art classes in High School .. but nothing formal.  I do this as a hobby – a way to de-stress, and was pleasantly surprised to find that others appreciate the scribblings that I do.  My medium is limited, as there are many drawings that I do at work while waiting for others, so most of the time I’m using either a Uni-ball pen, or sharpie marker in the drawings.  I actually prefer the Uni-ball pens, gives a nice clean line, good control .. and lots of fun colors!  I like the saturation of color that markers give .. I’m not so good at blending colors yet .. but I got me some watercolor pencils that I’m having lots of fun playing with .. planning on using them more in the future.

My perfect place to live is:

Some place in the middle of everything. I like to be active, and live in an area that I can step outside my door and into something fun - but at the same time, be able to close the door and have some quiet time as well.

When I’m not working I like to:

.. do a variety of things. My interests are many .. from playing a bad game of pool with good friends .. dancing at a local club … a movie at home or in the theater .. attend a play, musical, ballet, MSO, or other concert . . . stroll around the lakefront . . . curl up with a good book and my cat . . . work on a new painting/drawing . . . play RPGs and other games (yea, I’m a “G-geek” – also known as a “gamer” ..)  . . . take weekend trips to new places . . have long conversations . . . goof around at summer festivals . . dress up at Bristol Ren Faire . . make fun of cheesy Anime . . . try something new that I’ve never done before . . .

Last CD I bought was:

"Underworld" Soundtrack

Last book I read was:

Fiction: currently reading “Kushiel’s Chosen” by Jacqueline Carey

Non-Fiction: currently studying for my last 2 ACS exams (work certification)

My favorite movie is:

That’s tough .. I’ve got several . . “Counte of Monte Cristo”, “Brotherhood of the Wolf”, “Chicago”, “Moulin Rouge”, “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”, “Labyrinth”, “Nightmare Before Christmas”, “Matrix” series, “Dangerous Liaisons”, “Ninja Scroll”, “The Secretary”, “Big Trouble in Little China”, “Auntie Mame” . . there are more – but those are what come to mind off the top of my head

On my coffee table you'll find:

I don’t currently have a coffee table . . but if I did, it would probably be a catch place for my pencils, paper and clip board as I sit on the couch and sketch out ideas for paintings as they come to me while watching TV or movies . . or a place for my cats to perch as they beg food from me . .

My perfect vacation is:

One taken with good friends to a place I’ve never been before

My sense of humor can be described as:

Sarcastic and dry . . . sometimes witty .. often “naughty” . . .

My philosophy on life is:

“Live! Life is a banquet, and most poor souls are starving to death!” – Auntie Mame

“Happiness is not the absence of conflict, but the ability to cope with it.” - unknown

“Some mistakes are too much fun to make only once.” - unknown

"That which yields is not always weak" - quote from “Kushiel’s Dart”

My turn-ons are:

A person who is casual, confident and comfortable in their own skin, who likes to "dress to impress". A well dressed and well groomed person will turn my head every time.

My turn-offs are:

People who are so concerned with how others think of them that they can’t relax and enjoy the moment.

People who are deceitful and dishonest with themselves, and with me.

People that are so desperate to meet *someone* that they will attach themselves to anyone . .

My favorite food is:

That’s tough because it changes with my moods .. I love Mexican, Japanese and Middle Eastern food . . but Italian and German food is also yummy! Basically, any meal prepared well, and eaten in good company is great.
